About & sources

tvdebloat.com is an independent database of Android TV / Google TV debloat lists, organised by device model and by package name. It exists because the knowledge of "which packages can I safely freeze on my TV" is scattered across GitHub repositories, Reddit threads and forum posts, and because every set is a little different.

Operator & contact

tvdebloat is maintained by an individual developer (个人开发者). It is an independent reference site, not the author of CleanYourTV or a TV manufacturer. For support, corrections or source questions, email [email protected]. Site code and proposed changes are available on GitHub.

Sources

  • Gathin23/cleanyourtv (formerly tv-vibehack) — per-model debloat lists (MIT licence), republished here with attribution. Read our CleanYourTV project and device-list guide for the name change and the difference between upstream features and this site's coverage.
  • The submission page accepts proposed device lists and corrections. A submission is not treated as verified evidence until its source and reported results are reviewed.

How data and ratings are prepared

We extract uncommented package entries and preserve device-specific firmware and feature notes from upstream lists. Commented-out optional packages are not automatically added. Package descriptions use source notes and an editorial dictionary of common Android TV packages; these descriptions are not measurements of your TV.

Upstream does not provide a uniform low-risk/caution scale. The labels here are tvdebloat classifications based on documented purpose and trade-offs, not ratings certified by the upstream author. New imports default to caution when impact is unknown; familiar lower-risk entries are still checked for source notes about dependencies and lost features.

How to read the risk levels

  • List: low risk — a lower-risk classification based on the package purpose and source notes. It does not establish compatibility with your firmware or guarantee that features you use will remain available.
  • List: caution — a documented feature trade-off (updates, voice, casting, USB playback or other functions), a personal-preference choice, or an impact that is insufficiently documented. Keep it enabled when unsure.
  • Protected — must remain enabled for core TV functions and cannot be selected in the generator. The imported lists are selective; absence from the database does not mean an app can be disabled.

Package index ratings use caution if any listed device has a caution classification. Your device page and its original notes take precedence over a cross-device summary; matching package names alone do not establish compatibility.

What the dates mean

  • Source review date records when a source document was checked and imported. It is not a TV test.
  • Upstream-reported test date is included only when the imported source explicitly states a test date. A firmware’s security patch date or the Git commit date is not substituted for it.
  • Independent verification / lastVerified is reserved for an actual documented tvdebloat hardware test. None of the current lists has that verification; the field remains null.

Each device page links the original file and the exact raw snapshot used for this site. Newly imported lists link a fixed upstream revision. Earlier imports have no recorded revision or review date, and their current upstream files may have changed. Device JSON and package JSON exports include provenance and limitations for reuse.

Corrections and review

Send the exact model, firmware, source link and license, test date, changed packages, observed feature results and restore outcome through email or a GitHub pull request. We review provenance, compatibility scope and documented feature impacts before publishing changes. Unsupported safety claims do not become independent verification.

Licensing

List data derived from CleanYourTV (formerly tv-vibehack) is republished under the MIT licence, copyright © 2026 Gathin, with attribution. The exported source-derived datasets use the same license; the full source license and copyright notice accompany the downloads. Check each device’s provenance for its import revision; a project name change is not a retest. Site code and original write-ups © tvdebloat.com.

Disclaimer

Re-enabling a disabled app depends on retaining ADB or settings access. Disabling the wrong service can make a TV unusable. Save a package inventory and the matching restore commands first; these are not a system backup. Read each device page's firmware notes, and proceed at your own risk. This site is not affiliated with any TV manufacturer or with CleanYourTV (formerly tv-vibehack).
